Rising Stars: Meet David Lederman of Aventura

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Lederman

Hi David, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on October 23rd, 1989, and that city’s energy is a big part of who I am. I grew up with a warmth and openness that’s definitely rooted in my Brazilian heritage. At age 9, my family moved to Miami, which gave me a truly international perspective and helped fuel my curiosity and passion for life.

Art was always my focus growing up, and I dove deep into studying computer animation and fine arts through high school and college. It wasn’t always easy finding work as an artist, but I didn’t back down from new challenges. Eventually, I joined a major shampoo brand, and in three years, I went from an entry-level role to Director of Operations. That role taught me so much, and I’m proud to say I helped grow the brand’s income and profitability by seven times during that period. I like to think of myself as someone who “makes maps for businesses.” You need one to get to where you’re going, and I’m here to help companies find that path.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Definitely not always smooth. In 2017, my dad started a restaurant, but it quickly hit a rough patch, losing about $15,000 a month. So, I stepped in. We worked together, side-by-side, putting everything we had into that restaurant. In just six months, we turned it around to make it profitable. It was sold in 2019, and I’m happy to say it’s still doing well.
After that, I launched my own marketing and web development agency called Gems Business Solutions. It started small in 2019, but it’s grown into a full-service digital agency with over 20 team members now. My vision has always been bigger than just marketing—I’m committed to business consulting and helping companies optimize and grow holistically.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

At the heart of what I do is a commitment to partnership and customization. I believe in going beyond the role of a typical agency by offering clients strategies that are uniquely tailored to their brand. It’s important to me to truly understand each business and create solutions that align precisely with its needs. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all approach—every client deserves strategies that are as unique as their challenges and goals.

Transparency and education are also central to my approach. I want clients to understand the ‘why’ behind our work so they feel empowered in the process. I’m always evolving, striving to become sharper, more efficient, and more balanced, and that personal growth reflects in my businesses. That constant pursuit of improvement is what sets me apart, and it’s something I’m proud to bring into every partnership. At the root of it, my agency solves even the most complex problems. We’re like that kid in class that you always want to partner with because you know you will get an A.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to stay open—open to new ideas, new relationships, and above all, to always follow your passion. Over time, I’ve built qualities through business, education, and my international upbringing that allow me to approach each opportunity with an open mind. If you’re pouring yourself into something you don’t love, it’ll show. Passion is the one investment that never fails.
